Sunday morning update + what Siobhan has been up to

First things first.... dad's improving nicely. He's actually up sitting in a chair today! Mom said the chief of ICU walked by & did a double take :) Rehab is coming to see him- he'll need physical therapy and the speech paths need to look at him because his throat is so swollen and irriated from being intubated that he could have some trouble swallowing. That is an issue because hopefully he'll be able to start some liquids by mouth soon! The nurse is letting him dip a swab in juice and roll it around his mouth- Mom said that is making him very happy.

He's had his nails cut, and next is a haircut (and hopefully beard trim). He's back on a small dose of lasix to keep the fluids clearing out of his system. He's not quite back down to normal size yet. His white blood cell count is down and his wound is looking much "cleaner." All good updates today.

Now, as far as Siobhan goes, we've been giving her some latitude with her attitude (nice, right?) with all the stress in the house. However, she's been pretty awful since we got back from Disney. Apparently, she found the return to her peasant life quite unsettling and is rebelling. So, nothing Bob and I were doing (aka threatening) was working so we called in the big guns. Siobhan got a letter in the mail yesterday;

 

Let's see if Santa can knock some sense into this child!
