Just talked to Mom. He's in good spirits and looks "good" but tired. They're putting in a new feeding tube which he's not happy about. The PIC line is staying in but this one is a nasal tube (why he's annoyed) that will go to his duodenum (1st part of the small intestine) and provide more nutrition. He consented but told the team that he does NOT want to be uncomfortable- fair enough.
He's actually asked for his glasses and for a book from home. I see this as a HUGE positive development. He's watching Cash Cab too :)
While he's still swollen, he is "deflating" and on the right track. They think he'll have the ventilator in for a few more days until they get the majority of fluid out.
Mom said that Dad appreciates all the thoughts and prayers coming his way!
