There was a meeting held today, and the decision made was to discharge Dad on Monday and send him HOME! No rehab! He'll have visiting nurse every 3 days or so, he'll get a new VAC started here, and complete his recovery at home!
He's made huge gains lately. They stopped the Benefiber and tube feedings, and, shockingly enough, he started eating more! He had been telling the staff that he felt full all the time, so they made some changes and presto- appetite! The NG (ND?) tube could come out tomorrow. He has even requested pot stickers and edamame as a home coming meal!
No more walker. He walked the halls today with Mom pushing his IV. He's getting stronger each day. It's so nice to be reporting all positive news!!!
